Batty Zabella may look retro, and that's because it is! Built using GB Studio, the goal of the project is to create a compelling horror adventure game that pushes outdated hardware to its limits.
It also marks the debut of a new horror icon; Batty Zabella! Help save her family and clear her home of bizarre supernatural entities. She may give you sass while doing it, but you'll love it.
Please enjoy this demo version completely free of charge. Play in browser (mobile or PC), or download the ROM file to load onto real Game Boy hardware. Depending on the title's success, a limited physical release may be in store for the final game. In the meantime, you are welcome to add donations to your download, but it is not required.

I'll have to try the full game soon, but I think my only gripe is that the story doesn't start out with a more interesting cutscene, like how The Incredibles opens, before we get to the mundane life at home.
Definitely an inspiration for how to craft a compelling experience with compact art and minimal animation.
