Is there any possibility of purchase for a German language variant on physical copy? If not, do I have your blessing to make one myself after purchase of the physical copy and the German language ROM?
As long as you have no intention of selling your own carts of the German version, then you have my blessing. There could potentially be an "official" release one day, but as of now the German version didn't make enough money to warrant a full physical edition.
I'm continuing to promote the series as much as possible, especially with the sequel in development. A lot of people are still only now discovering the first game, so if demand increases for a physical German version I may consider it (after all, it's the version that actually has a full Super Game Boy border).
If you do make your own cartridge out of pure fan passion, I'd definitely be interested to see photos! Thanks for asking.
I may look into some method of providing the German language ROM at least for physical buyers in the near future, but the localization process was not free, and did take time, so the $6.66 download fee helps me recoup those costs while also gauging how much interest there is in German versions of future installments to begin with.
Originally I was contacted by an individual named Paul Roberts that wanted to help me get the game localized. I was curious to see how the process would work, and ultimately through him I was introduced to a company called "Lokilize" based in Estonia. They were very professional, and I would work with them again (although their website/focus seems to have changed since I worked with them).
The reason I decided on a German version was because, at the time, that was the language I'd seen most requested. Currently I have no plans for future localizations of the original or second game unless there's a surge of interest in non-English versions, or unless I eventually make a connection that can help me promote the game to a non-English audience.

Awesome! Vielen Dank! Maybe possible to unlock it for me as already physical buyer?
I second this motion :)
That would be nice. I'm a physical Buyer, too.

Love you all, and hope that's not unreasonable.
Out of curiosity, how did you settle that you wanted a German localization instead of a <insert any other language>?

Thank you for the insights! Appreciate it!
